How our CEO users her Apollo

Behind Apollo Neuro is a team that lives and breathes the mission to empower people to take charge of their mental health and live healthier, happier lives. Though we operate in the world of stress management, we’re certainly not immune to stress ourselves. But we are privileged to have access to the latest science and strategies for staying calm, focused, grounded, and happy. Through a series of Apollo team member highlights, we’ll share a diverse range of perspectives on mental health and wellness.

Kathryn Fantauzzi, Apollo Neuro CEO, sat down to share her daily routine with Apollo. As co-founder and one of Apollo’s earliest adopters, she’s gotten her hands dirty in Research and Development, and worked through the many iterations of Apollo. As CEO, Kathryn’s responsibilities range from growing the team, to heads down analysis, to networking with investors, to taking off all of the hats at the end of the day to be present with her husband and co-founder, Dr. Dave. Here is Kathryn’s personal Apollo routine to fit it all in without losing herself:

What’s your morning wake up look like?

I prefer Rebuild and Recover when I first get up — it’s a nice gentle wake up. Within five minutes I’m feeling clear and not groggy.

How do you use Apollo for work?

For deep work, I use Clear and Focused for anything that requires analysis, or when I’m correlating data, building a deck, doing a deep dive into data, or distilling complicated projects. I like to listen to non-lyrical music along with Apollo to drop into a really deep focus. The pairing of two sensory things happening simultaneously allows me to draw my focus into my work.

For collaborative work, I love Social and Open for Zoom meetings, pitching to investors, or delivering presentations. It really helps me put my best foot forward and stay focused.

How do you unwind after work?

It’s important that I have time to unwind after the day without going into full couch potato chill mode. I usually use Meditation and Mindfulness mode, which helps me transition out of my work and settle down especially if it’s been a stressful day. It’s a nice middle ground for me, keeps me even keeled without feeling sleepy.

How do you put down the day to get restorative rest?

About an hour before I want to be asleep, I use Relax and Unwind as I brush my teeth and do my pre-bed routine.

Once I’m in bed, I use Sleep and Renew. If I still feel a bit wound-up, I really like to use ambient music or a sound machine as I fall asleep, and Apollo augments the effects.

What advice would you give to people wanting to get the most out of Apollo?

My best tip to get the most out of Apollo is consistency and remembering to use it. I notice a difference when I don’t use Apollo. I remember there was a time when I didn’t feel clear most of the day, I was sluggish and distracted. Now, when I use Apollo, I feel clear, I’m in my work, and I’m happy to be doing my work. My sleep has never been better than when I use Apollo consistently throughout the day and night. It’s tough because when we’re strained and overwhelmed is when we forget to use it, so I try to build it into my routine. That way, no matter what kind of day I’m having, Apollo is in the circuit.”

Thank you, Kathryn!
